Abstract
Transient rendering is a relatively recent field in computer graphics that drops the usual assumption of instantaneous light propagation, modeling light transport over time instead. This work addresses variance reduction in transient light transport simulation by adapting Neural Radiance Caching (NRC), originally designed for steady-state global illumination, to incorporate a temporal dimension, enabling the network to learn and reconstruct time-resolved radiance and generalize to new views under transient light transport.
