Research
My research focuses on the acquisition, processing, simulation, and visualization of 3D data, with a special interest in LiDAR point clouds and multisensor information. I work at the intersection of computer graphics, remote sensing, GPU computing, and geometric algorithms.
Research directions
- Point cloud visualization and rendering. Out-of-core rendering, level of detail, visibility, and real-time visualization techniques for massive point clouds.
- LiDAR simulation and synthetic data generation. Virtual LiDAR sensors, procedural datasets, labelled point clouds, and simulation pipelines for machine learning and evaluation.
- Multisensor 3D digitization. Fusion and registration of LiDAR, RGB, multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermographic data for enriched 3D scene representations.
- Digital twins for rural and natural environments. 3D/4D modeling, monitoring, and simulation of rural, agricultural, forestry, and natural scenarios.
- GPU-accelerated geometric algorithms. Parallel methods for point cloud processing, spatial indexing, occlusion handling, and large-scale data management.
